Dr Gregory W Egbert

Dr. Egbert was born in Washington D.C.  He and his family moved to Ogden, Utah shortly thereafter.  He graduated from Ogden High School and completed his undergraduate education at Weber State University.  He received his DDS degree at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.  While in dental school, he participated in multiple oral surgery internships in Orthognathic Surgery.


Dr. Egbert was accepted and completed a one year hospital residency at Loma Linda Medical Center in Loma Linda, California before moving to Indianapolis for his Maxillofacial residency.  His residency at the Indiana University Medical Center emphasized training in major orthognathic surgical procedures.  He completed a Master’s degree while in Indiana on the effect of Orthognathic Surgery and bone grafting in cleft lip and palate patients.

Dr. Egbert has been in practice in Salt Lake City since 1988.  He serves as the division chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both St. Marks Hospital, and the Intermountain Medical Center.  He is on staff at the University of Utah Medical Center where he is an associate professor of surgery.  He not only teaches the dental residents but works closely with both the Plastics and Otolaryngology departments with major oncological and facial reconstruction cases. 

Dr. Egbert specializes in Orthognathic Surgery (jaw surgery), but he is also well trained and performs the wide variety of other oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures, including: dental implants, extraction of wisdom teeth, facial trauma and infections, expose and bracket procedures, biopsies, chin and cheek implants, etc.

Dr. Egbert currently resides in Sandy, Utah.  He and his wife Lauri are the proud parents of 6 children and 8 grandchildren.
